The International Research Staff Exchange Scheme aims at srengthening
research partnerships through short period staff exchanges and networking
activities between European research organizations and "counterparts" from
countries with which the Community has a S&T agreement or are in the
process of negotiating one, and countries covered by the European
Neighbourhood Policy.

Which countries are eligible?

- European Union countries and Associates:
- The 27 member states;
- Associate States: Croatia, Faroe Islands, FYRO Macedonia,
Iceland, Israel, Liechtenstein, Norway, Serbia, Switzerland, and
Turkey; Albania, Montenegro and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
- Third countries:
- Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, Chile, Egypt, India,
Japan, South Corea, Mexico, Marocco, New Zeland, Russia, South
Africa, Tunisia, Ucraine, USA;
- Central Europe and Central Asia: Armenia, Azerbeijan,
Bielorussia, Georgia, Moldova, Ucraine;
- Mediterranian: Algeria, Egypt, Jordan, Lebanon, Lybia, Marocco,
Regions under Palestinian Administration, Syria, Tunisia.

Who can apply?

Any research organisation, within a partnership of at least two
independant participants established in at least two different eu Member
States or associated countries, and one or more organisations located
either in countries with which the EU has an S&T agreement, or in
countries covered by the European Neighbourhood Policy.

Which research areas are supported?

All areas of research and technological development are eligible.

How does it work?

A staff exchange programme can apply for funding for periods of 24-48
months. The maximum duration of the individual staff exchange is 12 months.

What does the funding cover?
-
The staff exchange mobility costs in the eligible third country, 1800
€/month, including travel.In justified cases funding can be provided to
subsistence costs of staff exchange from selected eligible countries.
