On 20 November 2018 JPND announced a new ERA-NET Cofund project, JPCOFUND2, established under the European framework programme for science and innovation H2020, which continues the work of the JPcofuND project (2014-2019) and other activities pursued by the European joint programming initiative on neurodegenerative diseases research (for more information please check this page).
JPCOFUND is implemented between 2019 and 2023, and its major activities are:
This project receives funding from the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement no. 825664.
The aim of the call is to establish a number of ambitious, innovative, multi-disciplinary and multi-national collaborative research projects that aim at identifying and measuring physiological effects and related biomarkers that can be linked to the development of neurodegenerative diseases, as well as enhancing the understanding of causal underlying cellular, molecular, metabolic, inflammatory or other systemic processes. Proposals must focus on one or several of the following neurodegenerative diseases:
Twenty-three regional and national funding agencies of JPND member countries participate in this call and applications.
The call is conducted simultaneously by the participating funding organisations in their respective countries and coordinated centrally, with a single proposal submission and peer review system. The call has a two-step procedure: pre-proposals and full proposals.

Funding Criteria
Proposal coordination by an entity requesting funds from FCT: 250.000 €

If a consortium has more than one partner requesting funds to FCT, funds are to be shared among them.
All entities requesting FCT’s funds under this call for proposals have to submit their individual Statement of Commitment, downloadable here. This declaration must be e-mailed to FCT’s contact person, dully filled, signed and stamped, until 10 work days after the call’s deadline (16 March 2021). The original hard copy should be kept by its owner, as it may be requested by FCT at a later stage.
