Fulbright Commission

FCT and the Fulbright Commission signed a Memorandum of Understanding on November 23, 2016 with the purpose of promoting a joint program to award Studentships, namely the Studentships Fulbright for Research with FCT Support.
The Studentship is intended for doctoral grantees directly funded by FCT that have planned or foresee, as part of their training plan, a research period at a North American university or research center.

Areas of Study:

• All areas.
• Research activities may not involve direct contact with clinical patients. Depending on the nature of the project, this may also apply to projects in the field of medical sciences, veterinary medicine, nursing, dentistry, psychological counseling, or any other field that requires direct contact with clinical patients and/or prescribing or administering medication.

Requirements:

• Hold a PhD Studentship directly funded by FCT;
• Good knowledge of English;
• Proof of agreement with the project on the part of the North American institution;
• Proof of agreement with the project by the scientific advisor of the doctoral program the candidate is pursuing.
