FCT at Futurália under the slogan "Doing Research is Your Thing?"

Futuralia is the largest Education and Training Fair in Portugal. This year it was held from March 16 to 19 at FIL-Feira Internacional de Lisboa, and the FCT was represented for the first time at this event at the invitation of PO CH-Programa Operacional Capital Humano.

FCT's participation, under the slogan "Doing Research is Your Thing?", was ensured by researchers and doctoral programs, which represent the support given by FCT to Advanced Training - doctorates and post-doctorates - through Studentships and the financing of doctoral programs, both co-financed by PO CH.

The theme of Digital Employability was also promoted by FCT, with the participation of partners from CPED (Portuguese Coalition for Digital Employability), namely ANPRI (National Association of Computer Science Teachers), CDI Portugal, Academia de Código and the Polytechnic Institute of Santarém. These partners in the coalition coordinated by FCT presented the opportunities that the ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) area represents for future career development, as well as for the growth of the national digital economy.

FCT's presence at Futurália had the following objectives: to enlighten students about the academic pathways leading to a doctorate, namely which courses, in Portugal or abroad, how to identify a supervisor and the project, or how to obtain funding; to illustrate the multiple career opportunities for PhD graduates: research, industry, entrepreneurship, science management or consultancy; and to publicize the potential and opportunities of training in ICT (Information and Communication Technologies) for the first job and/or for retraining.
