New FCT Board of Directors for 2016-2018 tenure takes office
The Minister for Science, Technology and Higher Education, Manuel Heitor, today presided over the ceremony in which the new Board of Directors of FCT took office. Researchers and members of the scientific community based in Portugal, as well as FCT staff and co-workers were invited to the ceremony.
The new Board of Directors takes on a three-year mandate, for 2016 to 2018. The Board is composed of four members: as President, Paulo Ferrão (director of the MIT-Portugal Programme and Full Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon), as Vice-president, Miguel Castanho (Full Professor and Deputy-Director of the School of Medicine, University of Lisbon), and as Members, Isabel Ribeiro (Full Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon) and Ana Sanchez (head of the Science Communication Office of the Instituto de Tecnologia Química e Biológica, New University of Lisbon).
During the ceremony, the Minister for Science, Technology and Higher Education presented the FCT Charter of Principles, wherein the main strategic guidelines for the institution are described.
