Arquivo.pt honored in the “Best & Biggest in Technological Portugal” awards

Arquivo.pt won the "Digital Service" category of the "Os Melhores & As Maiores do Portugal Tecnológico 2022" (The Best & Biggest in Technological Portugal 2022) awards, presented annually by Exame Informática magazine to recognize entrepreneurs, innovators, companies, and institutions in the fields of science and technology. The awards ceremony, now in its 16th edition, took place on November 29 at the EPIC Sana Marquês hotel in Lisbon and honored researchers, entrepreneurs, companies, and institutions in the fields of science and technology in different categories.

In the "Digital Service" category, the winner was Arquivo.pt, operated by the National Scientific Computing Unit (FCCN) of FCT, and the award was received by the team that manages and runs this project. In this category, honorable mentions went to "Heróis da Fruta" (Fruit Heroes), an initiative that aims to promote healthy eating habits among children, and "Portal da Queixa" (Complaints Portal), an entity that facilitates communication between complainants and service providers.

Arquivo.pt is a service that preserves archived information from the Web since 1996. Arquivo.pt preserves information published on the Web that is of interest to the Portuguese community, distinguishing itself by allowing users to search and retrieve information from old websites. It is a public service, free of charge and freely accessible to all Web users.
