The L'Oréal Portugal Honor Medals for Women in Science are intended to support advanced studies in scientific research at the postdoctoral level in an institution belonging to the national scientific and technological system, in the field of Sciences, Engineering, and Technologies for Health or the Environment.

The Prize is intended to distinguish the best paper published on the topic Mental Health: clinical research and mental health services, which describes the results of the research conducted by a researcher under 35 years old, in an institution of the national scientific and technological system.
