The National Survey on Advanced Computing is currently underway

National Survey of Advanced Computing

The Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), through its FCCN Unit, is promoting the 2023 National Survey on Advanced Computing (INCA 2023). This initiative is mainly aimed at the National Science and Technology System and the National Innovation System and seeks to survey needs and then propose solutions to boost the field of advanced computing in Portugal.

INCA 2023 is an important step toward identifying specific needs in the sector and guiding the development of public policies aligned with the needs of the scientific and technological community. By gathering comprehensive information, the survey aims to understand scientific computing requirements, identify existing challenges, and opportunities to boost research, innovation, and technological development in various areas.

The survey results will be used to inform developments in the National Advanced Computing Network, a nationwide computing resource infrastructure, as well as to review the National Advanced Computing Strategy, which will take place in 2023.

The survey was conducted in partnership with the Directorate-General for Education and Science Statistics (DGEEC) and the National Innovation Agency (ANI). The involvement of research, development, and innovation (R&D&I) institutions is essential to ensure that public policies are developed based on a comprehensive and representative view of the sector.

All institutions belonging to the National Science and Technology System are requested to respond to the National Advanced Computing Survey by July 18 at https://ec.europa.eu/eusurvey/runner/INCA-2023.
