European Marine Board (EMB) seeks Young Ambassadors

Call EMB Ambassadors

The European Marine Board (EMB), a pan-European think tank working at the interface of marine science and policy, of which FCT is a member, has an ongoing Young Ambassadors Program, composed of four ambassadors from EMB member organizations. In this context, it has recently opened a Call for the recruitment of two new EMB Young Ambassadors, whose applications run until 26 February 2023.

The Ambassadors are scheduled to take office in April 2023 and will serve a two-year term, ending in spring 2025, after which they will join the Alumni Young Ambassadors programme.

To fulfil the position, ambassadors receive a Studentship of 2,000€ distributed over the two years of the programme and an additional budget of up to 3,000€ to cover costs related to events, travel and communications.

Through this programme, EMB Young Ambassadors work with the EMB Secretariat to help promote marine science (natural and social) and ocean-related themes, as well as other EMB activities in particular, among peers. Ambassadors gain access to and knowledge about the European marine science and oceans policy landscape, while the EMB gains valuable information and the ability to reach new audiences in other formats.

Alongside to this Call for Ambassadors, a Call for Ambassador Mentors is also open (more information with the EMB Secretariat by sending an email to info@marineboard.eu with the subject: Call for Ambassadors mentors).
