R&D institutions

Research organizations are the backbone of national science and knowledge creation. They are the place where non-business research and innovation is carried out, bringing together critical capacity and promoting a working environment that stimulates scientific creativity, the attraction of talent, scientific careers and advanced training of human resources.
The research carried out at these institutions covers all scientific fields, namely: life and health sciences, social sciences, arts and humanities, engineering and technology sciences, exact sciences and natural and environmental sciences.
The "Science Law" establishes the legal framework for institutions dedicated to research and development (R&D) and defines the general principles for their evaluation and funding.
