Research 4 COVID-19

Taking into account the outbreak of the new coronavirus and COVID-19 and the situation of uncertainty and social alarm experienced, but also the existing scientific and technological capacity in Portugal, the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), in collaboration with the Agency for Clinical Research and Biomedical Innovation (AICIB), has awarded special support, "Research 4 COVID-19", to R&D projects and initiatives to respond to the needs of the National Health Service (SNS) in responding to this and future pandemics in a very short time horizon.

The aim is to stimulate national collaborative R&D networks, as well as to refocus the activity of R&D units supported by the FCT on R&D initiatives that respond to the needs of the National Health Service (SNS).
