Research for COVID-19

Taking into account the outbreak of the new coronavirus and COVID-19 and the situation of uncertainty and social alarm experienced, but also the scientific and technological capacity existing in Portugal, the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), in collaboration with the Agency for Clinical Research and Biomedical Innovation (AICIB), has allocated special support, "Research 4 COVID-19," to R&D projects and initiatives to meetthe needs of the National Health Service (SNS) in responding to this and future pandemics in a very short time frame.

The aim is to stimulate national collaborative R&D networks, as well as to reorient the activity of R&D units supported by the FCT towards R&D initiatives that respond to the needs of the National Health Service (SNS).
