In 2008, the Portuguese Republic and the Slovak Republic established a scientific and technological cooperation agreement with a view to strengthening bilateral relations and scientific cooperation between the two countries through the funding of:
a) Joint scientific and technological projects;
b) Exchanges of scientists, experts, researchers, and teachers;
