The scientific and technological cooperation agreement between Portugal and the Research Council of Norway (RCN) was established in 2015.
The protocol states that both countries, recognizing the importance of science and technology in development, wish to strengthen and develop economic, scientific, and technological cooperation on the basis of equality and mutual benefit.
Cooperation shall preferably be in the following areas:
- marine biotechnology;
- fisheries and aquaculture;
- marine environment and ecosystems;
- underwater technology and offshore systems;
- deep sea;
- offshore energy.
