ERA-MIN
Network on Industrial Use of Raw Materials for European Industries

ERA-MIN is an ERA-NET network in the field of industrial use of raw materials for European industries, supported by the European Commission's Seventh Framework Program, which began in November 2011 and will last for four years. Its objective is to coordinate research funding programs to promote research in the area of sustainable supply of raw materials for European industries, in line with the European Raw Materials Initiative.
ERA-MIN focuses on topics related to the three segments of non-energy mineral resources: metallic minerals, industrial minerals, and construction minerals. The topics addressed by ERA-MIN cover the entire raw materials value chain: primary and secondary resources, substitution of critical elements, as well as cross-cutting topics such as environmental impact mitigation and public awareness.
To achieve its objectives, ERA-MIN's main activities are:
- Mapping of the European research community in the field of non-energy raw materials – public and private sectors.
- Roadmap of research priorities and joint research actions.
- Coordination of research funding programs in Europe and implementation of joint activities, in particular Calls .
- Increase in the number of ERA-MIN consortium partners and international cooperation with countries outside Europe.
ERA-MIN's activities and the maintenance of its defined objectives continued in ERA-NET cofund ERA-MIN 2 – Research & Innovation Program on Raw Materials to foster Circular Economy and, currently, in ERA-MIN 3. For more information, see the page dedicated toERA-MIN 3.
