15 new CoLABs approved

The final results of the evaluation of applications submitted by March 2018 for the award of the title and designation of Collaborative Laboratory (CoLAB) have been announced. The evaluation included a public session for the presentation of proposals, which took place on April 20 and 21 in Lisbon, with the provisional results being announced on July 27. Following the preliminary hearing phase, 15 proposals were approved, the list of which is available here.

Collaborative Laboratories have 90 days after the decision to award the title to establish themselves as private non-profit associations or companies. Promoting collaboration between science, technology, and higher education institutions and the economic and social fabric, namely companies, the hospital and healthcare system, cultural institutions, and social organizations, Collaborative Laboratories aim to create, directly and indirectly, high added-value jobs in Portugal through the implementation of research and innovation agendas geared towards creating economic and social value.

Obtaining the CoLAB title will subsequently allow access to specific funding.

The Call permanently open.
