15 new CoLABs approved

The final result of the evaluation of applications submitted until March 2018 for the award of the title and designation of Collaborative Laboratory ( CoLAB ) was released. The evaluation included a public proposal presentation session that took place on April 20 and 21 in Lisbon, and the provisional results were communicated on July 27. Once the preliminary hearing phase was completed, 15 proposals were approved, the list of which is available here .

Collaborative Laboratories have 90 days after the decision to grant the title to establish themselves as private non-profit associations or companies. By promoting collaboration between science, technology and higher education institutions and the economic and social fabric, notably companies, the hospital and health system, cultural institutions and social organizations, Collaborative Laboratories aim to create, directly and indirectly, high value-added jobs in Portugal, through the implementation of research and innovation agendas geared towards creating economic and social value.

Obtaining the CoLAB title will subsequently allow access to specific financing.

THE Call is open permanently.
