15 new CoLABs approved
The final results of the evaluation of the applications submitted by March 2018 for the award of the title and designation of Collaborative Laboratory(CoLAB) have been released. The evaluation included a public session for the submission of proposals, which took place on April 20 and 21 in Lisbon, and the provisional results were announced on July 27. After the prior hearing phase, 15 proposals were approved, a list of which is available here.
Collaborative Laboratories have 90 days after the decision to award the title to set themselves up as private non-profit associations or companies. By promoting collaboration between science, technology and higher education institutions and the economic and social fabric, namely companies, the hospital and healthcare system, cultural institutions and social organizations, Collaborative Laboratories aim to create, directly and indirectly, high value-added jobs in Portugal, through the implementation of research and innovation agendas geared towards creating economic and social value.
Obtaining the CoLAB title will subsequently allow access to specific funding.
The Call is open permanently.
