1st Call for Portugal-India Research Projects selected 10 projects

The Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) and the Department of Science and Technology of the Government of India (DST) have released the results of the 1st joint Call for research projects, launched under the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two institutions in 2019. The results are available for consultation here.

This Call is intended to foster the development of scientific and technological cooperation between Indian and Portuguese researchers, by creating scientific partnerships between research groups in the two countries and strengthening the networks already created, reinforcing bilateral cooperation in Science and Technology between Portugal and India, in areas such as Biotechnology, Energy, the Environment, Sustainable Infrastructures, Climate Change, Disaster Management, and Marine Science and Technology.

Of the 417 eligible applications submitted, 10 were selected for funding. The projects supported under this Call will start in 2022 and last 36 months, representing a total investment of 1 million euros from FCT to support the costs of the Portuguese research teams.
