1st Call Portugal-India Research Projects selected 10 projects

The Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) and the Department of Science and Technology of the Government of India (DST) have announced the results of Call first Call for research project support, launched under the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two institutions in 2019. The results are available for consultation here.

This Call to foster the development of scientific and technological cooperation between Indian and Portuguese researchers by creating scientific partnerships between research groups in both countries and strengthening existing networks, thereby reinforcing bilateral cooperation in Science and Technology between Portugal and India in areas such as Biotechnology, energy, the environment, sustainable infrastructure, climate change, disaster management, and marine science and technology.

Of the 417 eligible applications submitted, 10 were selected for funding. The projects supported under this Call start in 2022 and will last for 36 months, representing a total investment of €1 million from the FCT to support the expenses of Portuguese research teams.
