1st Call of Portugal-India Research Projects selected 10 projects

The Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) and the Department of Science and Technology of the Government of India (DST) have released the results of the 1st joint Call for the support of research projects, launched under the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two institutions in 2019. The results are available for viewing here.

This Call aims to foster the development of scientific and technological cooperation between Indian and Portuguese researchers, through the creation of scientific partnerships between research groups from both countries and the strengthening of already created networks, reinforcing bilateral cooperation in Science and Technology between Portugal and India, in areas such as Biotechnology, Energy, Environment, Sustainable Infrastructures, Climate Change, Disaster Management, and Marine Sciences and Technologies.

Of the 417 eligible applications submitted, 10 applications were selected for funding. The projects supported under this Call will start in 2022 and will last for 36 months, representing a total investment of 1 million euros by FCT to support the expenses of the Portuguese research teams.
