2nd Marine Robotics Summer School in the Azores

Applications for the second edition of the Marine Robotics Summer School are open until April 18. This year's edition will take place from July 11 to 22, 2022, on Faial Island, in the Azores.
The organization will support the travel and accommodation of the selected candidates and the aim of this initiative is to provide students with experience in marine robotics, more specifically in its applications to ocean observation, archaeology and ecosystem mapping. The selected participants can attend lectures with scientists from the United States (MIT) and Europe, attend workshops on ocean sciences and the use of robotics in ocean research and monitoring, participate in field activities on oceanographic phenomena in the Azores, among other activities.
The number of participants is limited to a selection of 20 candidates. More information and details on the application process are available on the MIT Portugal website.
The Summer School is a joint organization of the MIT Portugal Program, funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), the Laboratory of Underwater Systems and Technologies (LSTS- FEUP), and the University of the Azores, and has the support of the Regional Government of the Azores. The course will also be attended by the AIR Center, the Collaborative Laboratory for the Atlantic (CoLAB Atlantic), the Gaspar Frutuoso Foundation, the Azores Sea School and the OKEANOS Institute for Research in Marine Sciences.
