2nd Call FCT-AKDN: 21 projects selected
The Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) and the Aga Khan Foundation released the results of the 2nd Call jointly, launched within the scope of the Scientific and Technological Cooperation Protocol between the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education and the Ismaili Imamat in 2016. This edition of Call sought to support new initiatives and collaborations between Portuguese, African and AKDN scientific and academic research institutions, with the aim of developing international partnerships that contribute to strengthening research capacities, encouraging and strengthening scientific, technical, human and social skills and capabilities aimed at advancing Quality of Life in Africa.
Of the 203 eligible applications submitted, 42 passed to the 2nd evaluation phase, with 21 applications being proposed for funding, distributed across 13 African countries. Projects supported under this Call will last 36 months and represent a total investment of 5 million euros.
Similar to the ongoing projects of the 1st Call , the 21 projects will be monitored by an External Monitoring and Evaluation Committee, in order to ensure the achievement of the proposed scientific results and the desired impact on the Quality of Life of the African countries involved.
