The FCT's "Summer with Science" initiative funds 418 Studentships research initiation

The FCT will fund 418 Studentships research Studentships integrated into 67 "Summer with Science" programs presented by R&D units, representing a total investment of €190,000.

The “Summer with Science” initiative is a special grant awarded by FCT for scientific and technological research activities in R&D units with a view to enhancing scientific and technological capacity and its relationship with higher education and society. This support aims to encourage initiation into scientific activity, thus contributing to the promotion of scientific and technological culture and the dissemination and dissemination of scientific and technical knowledge among higher education students.

This program supports "Summer with Science" projects for scientific and technological research activities in R&D units by funding Studentships research Studentships for in-person scientific research activities. This support is intended for R&D units that have been rated Good, Very Good, or Excellent by the FCT in the 2017-2018 R&D Unit evaluation process.

This is the second edition of the Summer with Science initiative, which in 2020 funded 87 actions in 22 institutions and 1,175 Studentships for research initiation and research as part of the special support promoted in collaboration with the Directorate-General for Higher Education (DGES).
