Second edition of the 'la Caixa' Foundation Call Projects opens - i4b

Applications for the 2nd edition of the la Caixa Foundation's Call for health research projects are open until January 15. The Call is part of the Iberian Biomedical Research and Innovation Initiative, i4b, established in the protocol signed between 'la Caixa' and the FCT in February 2018, under which the FCT undertakes to match the investment made by 'la Caixa' in projects led by Portuguese institutions under this Call. la Caixa will hold two information sessions in Portugal: the first in Porto, at the Biodiversity Gallery of the Living Science Center / Museum of Natural History and Science of the University of Porto, on November 28, and the second in Lisbon, at the Pavilion of Knowledge - Living Science Center, on November 29.

The first edition of the Call received 785 applications, 167 of which came from Portugal. The results were presented in July of this year, with eight Portuguese projects selected, representing a total allocation of around five million euros, distributed across four areas: neurosciences, infectious diseases, cardiovascular diseases and cross-cutting biomedical projects.
