Call Joint R&D Projects – International Partnerships now open
The deadline for applications for funding for joint projects between companies and non-business entities in the R&I system has been extended to June 17. Applications for Call, which is promoted by PORTUGAL2020, ANI, and FCT, must be submitted throughBalcão Portugal 2020. The budget is €22.8 million. This Call the third phase of International Partnerships with Carnegie Mellon University, MIT, and the University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin), which began in 2018 and runs until 2030. The aim is to assign national companies the role of driving networks and collaborative projects, with the support of Portuguese R&D institutions and taking advantage of the experience and knowledge of US universities. The goal is to build a model in which national companies lead the process of modernizing the economic fabric, strengthening the innovation ecosystem in Portugal.
Joint projects led by Portuguese companies in partnership with national academic institutions that contribute to consolidating the intergovernmental initiative "Atlantic Interactions" are eligible to apply . The projects should help to develop or consolidate partnerships with researchers from Carnegie Mellon University, MIT, and the University of Texas at Austin in one or more topics from the respective programs, namely:

GoPortugal – Global Science and Technology Partnerships Portugal (2018–2030)
It aims to stimulate scientific and business development, promote Portugal's affirmation in the world through the scientific and economic enhancement of an innovative agenda on "Atlantic Interactions," attract funding, and mobilize various national and international actors with an innovative approach in various areas of knowledge. This new phase will provide the creation of skilled jobs, attracting human resources of recognized international merit to Portugal.
