Opened today Call of Studentships PhD Research Program 2022

FCT opened today the application period for the 2022 Call for Doctoral Research Studentships . This Call provides for the allocation of 1450 Studentships , the application submission period runs until April 7th, until 5pm Lisbon time, and applications are submitted electronically on the myFCT portal .

This year's edition of the “great Call of Studentships FCT” has as a novelty the opening of a specific line of financing for Studentships research projects whose work plans take place entirely or partially in non-academic entities, notably in companies, collaborative laboratories, technology and innovation centers, technological interface centers, public administration entities or third sector entities. In this context, research activities can be carried out in collaboration with academic entities, promoting institutional cooperation.

THE Call of Studentships for Doctoral Research is aimed at students already enrolled in a cycle of studies leading to the academic degree of doctor or candidates who meet the necessary conditions to enroll and who intend to develop research activities leading to the attainment of this degree in all areas of knowledge. To the Studentships may occur in Portugal, abroad or in both quadrants, designated as Studentships mixed, and have a maximum of 48 months of financing.

Advanced Training is an essential vector for a National Science and Technology System of excellence with renewed critical mass, rejuvenated and creative. Currently, the FCT has more than 7200 Studentships of doctorate in progress. In 2021 alone, over 2,800 new projects were started. Studentships . FCT's support in the area of advanced training corresponds to an annual investment of around €100 million.
