The Call Studentships for Doctorates 2022 opened today

Today, FCT opened the application period for Call 2022Call PhD Studentships . This Call the award of 1,450 Studentships. The deadline for submitting applications is April 7, at 5:00 p.m. Lisbon time, and applications must be submitted electronically on the myFCT portal.

This year's edition of Call Studentships Call Studentships includes a new feature: the opening of a specific line of funding for Studentships whose work plans are carried out wholly or partly in non-academic entities, namely companies, collaborative laboratories, technology and innovation centers, technology interface centers, public administration entities, or third sector entities. In this context, research activities may be carried out in collaboration with academic entities, promoting institutional cooperation.

The Call Studentships for Doctorates is aimed at students already enrolled in a course of study leading to a doctoral degree or candidates who meet the necessary conditions to enroll and who wish to carry out research activities leading to the award of such a degree in all areas of knowledge. Studentships take place in Portugal, abroad, or in both locations, known as Studentships , and have a maximum funding period of 48 months.

Advanced Training is an essential vector for a National Science and Technology System of excellence with renewed critical mass, rejuvenated and creative. Currently, FCT has more than 7,200 Studentships in progress. In 2021 alone, 2,800 new Studentships were initiated. FCT's support in the area of advanced training corresponds to an annual investment of around €100 million.
