DNS.pt Association to begin operations next June

Formally established on May 14, the DNS.pt Association aims to manage, operate, and maintain the top-level domain registry corresponding to Portugal (.pt) independently and autonomously. Luísa Lopes Gueifão heads the private non-profit association, which continues the work carried out by the National Scientific Computing Foundation (FCCN) after its integration into the FCT.

The DNS.PT Association was founded by FCT, the Association of Electronic Commerce and Interactive Advertising (ACEPI), the Portuguese Association for Consumer Protection (DECO), and the representative appointed by IANA – Internet Assigned Numbers Authority as responsible for the delegation of ccTLD.pt.
