Doctoral Studentships from the Carnegie Mellon Portugal Program

FCT has opened the Call for 6 PhD Studentships under the Carnegie Mellon Portugal Program (CMU Portugal) for the 2019/2020 biennium. The Call will be open until December 31, 2018, according to the specific admission deadlines of each doctoral program.

The PhD Studentships are dual-degree - the PhD is awarded by Carnegie Mellon University and the partner university in Portugal. The application deadlines vary depending on the area: Computer Science, Robotics, Computer Engineering and Spoken Language Technologies have applications open until December 10, Engineering and Public Policy until December 15 and Electrical and Computer Engineering until December 31.

Studentships last for one year, possibly renewable up to a maximum of five years. FCT funds a maximum of three years, during which the researchers carry out their doctoral work in Portugal, and Carnegie Mellon University funds the remaining period. The Studentships are scheduled to begin in September 2019.
