CERN

The Call for Technological InternshipStudentships for Associate Engineers at CERN (European Organization for Nuclear Research) is open until February 9. This Call, which is being held under a protocol between FCT and CERN, aims to provide young Portuguese researchers with the opportunity to undertake advanced training at that leading international scientific organization.

Technological Internships for Associate Engineers at CERN are aimed at candidates with a bachelor's or master's degree obtained less than 6 years ago, or with a doctorate degree obtained less than 3 years ago, in scientific and technological areas within CERN's fields of competence. Candidates must be fluent in English and the duration of the Studentship is annual and may be extended to a maximum of two years, subject to FCT approval.

This training opportunity at CERN is part of the FCT's Technological Internship Programme for advanced training of young Portuguese people in major international scientific organizations, including the European Southern Observatory (ESO) and the European Space Agency (ESA). The aim of these internships is for candidates to develop a complementary training plan (on-the-job training) in technological areas that are strategic for increasing the competitiveness of Portuguese companies.
