Studentships Bilateral Research Fund (BRF) for PhD students and members of PARSUK

The Bilateral Research Fund (BRF) program, promoted annually by PARSUK (Portuguese Association of Students and Researchers in the United Kingdom), has opened applications for nine Studentships , with the support of FCT in conjunction with the British Embassy Lisbon / UK Science and Innovation Network. Applications are open until April 29, 2022, at 5 p.m., and submissions are made via this online form.

The Bilateral Research Fund (BRF) program was created in 2020 and aims to support the establishment and development of research links between universities and research institutes in the United Kingdom and Portugal. The initiative seeks to encourage the establishment of new partnerships that can boost collaboration between Portuguese and British research institutions, thereby facilitating the transfer of knowledge on advances in science and technology between both countries.

Early-career researchers and PARSUK members based at a research institution in Portugal or the United Kingdom may apply for the Studentships . The principal applicant must be based at a research institution in Portugal or the United Kingdom and may have several co-investigators. However, at least one co-investigator must be based in the partner country. For example, if the principal applicant is based at a Portuguese research institution, then one co-investigator must be based at a British research institution.

Selected applicants will be awarded a Studentship up to €3,000.
