Brazil hosts the Belém All-Atlantic Research Forum

On July 24 and 25, Brazil hosted the Belém All-Atlantic Research Forum, in which the FCT - Foundation for Science and Technology participated. This Forum aims to reaffirm the importance of research and innovation in the oceans, forming the basis for the strategic partnership in marine research initiated between Brazil, South Africa and the European Union under the Belém Declaration on "Atlantic Research and Innovation Cooperation", signed in July 2017 in Lisbon with the aim of strengthening research in the South Atlantic.

During the Forum, a project proposal was also presented for a coordination and support action that will contribute to the implementation of the Belem Declaration, approved for funding by Horizon 2020. This project will be coordinated by FCT and is scheduled to start in the last quarter of 2018.
