Science'18 – Encounter with Science and Technology in Portugal
Following the latest annual Science meetings, it is with renewed enthusiasm that we challenge all researchers and their R&D units to participate in Science 2018, also inviting all citizens to open debates on new scientific opportunities and challenges. This year's annual meeting, Science 2018, will take place on July 2-4 at the Lisbon Congress Center.
This year, the program will be organized around"missions"associated with major scientific and societal challenges, based on the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goalsfor 2030. We intend to highlight the need to deepen research and innovation, while strengthening communication and dialogue mechanisms, which are recognized by all as increasingly important for the contributions of knowledge and technology to be understood and strongly supported by society. We would therefore like to mobilize all researchers and their R&D units for the debate emerging in Europe on the design of the future 9th European Framework Program for Research and Innovation, 2021-2028.
During April, the coordinators of the R&D units were invited to submit their proposals for oral presentations and demonstrations of R&D activities. We will soon also be requesting proposals for digital posters to be presented by PhD students during the meeting.
The 2018 Science Meeting is promoted by the Foundation for Science and Technology in collaboration with the National Agency for Scientific and Technological Culture Ciência Viva and the Parliamentary Committee on Education and Science, with institutional support from the Government through the Minister of Science, Technology, and Higher Education.
We are confident that, with everyone's collaboration, we will create another unique moment of annual reflection on the state of Science and Technology in Portugal and Europe.
