European Commission publishes guide to interactions between European and regional funds

On July 5, the European Commission published a practical guide to the synergies between the Horizon Europe funding program (2021-2017) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) programs.

The guide, aimed primarily at the managing authorities of cohesion programmes and the national contact points and promoters of Horizon Europe, identifies the new mechanisms for operationalizing complementarity between Horizon Europe funds and regional funds - the so-called synergies - and covers the legal and practical details of their implementation. These new mechanisms include the Seal of Excellence, transfer, cumulative funding, institutionalized and co-financed partnerships, andteaming.
