European Commission publishes guide on interactions between European and regional funds

On July 5, the European Commission published a practical guide to synergies between the Horizon Europe funding program (2021-2017) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) programs.

The guide, aimed primarily at cohesion program management authorities and Horizon Europe national contact points and promoters, identifies new mechanisms for operationalizing complementarity between Horizon Europe funds and regional funds—known as synergies—and covers the legal and practical details of their implementation. These new mechanisms include the Seal of Excellence, transfer, cumulative funding, institutionalized and co-financed partnerships, and combined funding (teaming).
