Call for PhD Studentships open until March 28th
The Call for PhD Studentships 2018 is now open. It runs from February 28 until 5pm on March 28, 2018, and will award 950 Studentships. This number consolidates a progressive increase in the number of doctoral Studentships awarded in the individual Calls , as well as in the total number of doctoral Studentships Calls individualCalls and FCT Doctoral Programs) awarded over the years.
Doctoral Studentships are grants awarded competitively to support the training of scientists in all areas of knowledge to obtain a doctoral degree. The research work carried out under this Call can be developed in any knowledge-intensive environment, namely in collaboration with companies and other public and private institutions, including the Public Administration. Host institutions can be R&D Units, State Laboratories, Associate Laboratories, Collaborative Associate Laboratories or Interface Centers.
In order to attract foreign researchers to the country, changes have been made to the regulations that allow non-resident third-country nationals to apply. However, they must obtain a residence permit by the start date of the Studentship. Another change to the Call is that, following the analysis included in the OECD evaluation, a scientific coordination team will be created for the Call.
