Call of Studentships PhD program is open until March 28th

The Call for Applications for Doctoral Studentships 2018 is now open. It runs from February 28th until 5pm on March 28th, 2018, and will allocate 950 Studentships . This number consolidates a progressive increase in the number of Studentships doctorates awarded in the Calls individual as well as in the total number of Studentships of doctorate ( Calls individual and FCT Doctoral Programs) granted over the years.

To the Studentships Doctoral Grants are competitively awarded grants to support the training of scientists in all areas of knowledge in obtaining the academic degree of Doctor. The research work carried out within the scope of this Call can be developed in any knowledge-intensive environment, notably in collaboration with companies and other public and private institutions, including the Public Administration. Host institutions can be R&D Units, State Laboratories, Associate Laboratories , Collaborative Laboratories or Interface Centers.

In order to attract foreign researchers to the country, changes were made to the regulations that allow third-country citizens who are not residents to apply. However, they must obtain the residence permit by the date of commencement of the Studentship . Another change to the Call is the fact that, following the analysis included in the OECD assessment, a scientific coordination team is created Call .
