Call Projects in all Scientific Fields

FCT has today published the Call for Applications for projects in all scientific fields. The period for submitting applications to the Call will run from January 28 to March 10, 2021.

This Call has a budget of 75 million euros and will support two types of projects:

- Scientific research and technological development projects (IC&DT), with a duration of 36 months and maximum funding per project of 250,000 euros, with an allocation of 60 million euros;

- Exploratory research projects (PeX), with a duration of 18 months and maximum funding per project of 50,000 euros, with an allocation of 15 million euros.

The introduction of these two types of projects is one of the new features of this year's Call for Projects in all Scientific Domains, a change that responds to suggestions from the scientific community. The annual Call for Projects in all Scientific Domains is part of the FCT's set of major structuring Calls , whose timetable, another of the commitments made by the FCT to the scientific community, is established until 2022 and published on the website.

On the opening day of applications, January 28th, the application form and the guide to filling in the form will be made available on the Call page. Applications will be submitted through the FCT R&D Project Calls Portal and in English.
