Climate Science from Space Conference
The Ministry of Science, Technology, and Higher Education, with the support of the European Commission, is organizing the Climate Science from Space conference online on April 21 and 22, held under the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2021.
This conference will focus on "synergies for a greener innovation economy" and will seek to establish links between space and climate ecosystems, as well as contribute to the European Green Deal and the transition to a greener society and economy. Space-based systems will be presented as a way to improve everyday life and contribute to the protection of our planet, as well as concrete examples of development and innovation, with a view to implementing initiatives built on space applications with a direct impact, such as the Copernicus Program. The conference will also showcase Portuguese, European, and international initiatives, projects, and policies that present innovation and technologies for the green transition.
Climate Science from Space will be attended by the European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education, and Youth, Mariya Gabriel. The initiative is supported by the Foundation for Science and Technology, Portugal Space, the AIR Center, Eupportunity, and the National Innovation Agency (ANI).
