Climate Science from Space Conference

The Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education, with the support of the European Commission, is organizing the Climate Science from Space conference online on April 21 and 22, as part of the Portuguese Presidency of the Council of the European Union 2021.
This conference will have the motto "synergies for a greener innovation economy" and will seek to establish links between space and climate ecosystems, as well as contributing to the European Green Deal and the transition to a greener society and economy. Space-based systems will be presented as a way of improving everyday life and contributing to the protection of our planet, as well as concrete examples of development and innovation, with a view to implementing initiatives built on space applications with a direct impact, such as the Copernicus Program. The conference will also showcase Portuguese, European and international initiatives, projects and policies that present innovation and technologies for the green transition.
Climate Science from Space will be attended by the European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth, Mariya Gabriel. The initiative has the support of the Foundation for Science and Technology, Portugal Space, the AIR Center, Eupportunity and the National Innovation Agency (ANI).
