Contracts under the transitional provision of the Scientific Employment Stimulus

Under Decree-Law No. 57/2016, as currently worded, institutions with doctoral fellows who have been working in public institutions or who have been financed by public funds for more than three consecutive or interpolated years must open two competitive procedures for the hiring of doctoral researchers. The first procedure must be opened as soon as possible, and the second procedure before August 31, 2018.

Whenever the Studentship rise to the position to be contracted has been financed directly or indirectly by the FCT for more than three consecutive or interpolated years, the FCT will assume the hiring costs, regardless of the candidate selected, by entering into a program contract with the institution. Host institutions have notified the FCT of their scholarship holders who will give rise to these positions.
