COVID-19: #EUVSVIRUS HACKATHON

The European Commission, in close collaboration with all EU member states, is promoting the #EUvsVirus Hackathon from today, April 24, until next April 26. The initiative seeks to involve civil society, the public sector, innovators and investors in the development of innovative short-term solutions, in the context of the challenges linked to COVID-19.

In Portugal, the Minister for Science, Technology and Higher Education, Manuel Heitor, is the national ambassador for this computer marathon, which already has around 600 Portuguese registered.

The Hackathon has several challenges that are subdivided into themes such as: health (protective equipment, ventilators, rapid tests, skills, research); business continuity (business models, value chains, job protection); social and political cohesion (protection of groups at risk or isolated, fake news, protection of the arts and cultural life); distance work and education; application of digital to the financial world (crowdfunding, health insurance solutions, mechanisms for accessing financial support for the economy).

The best ideas will be presented on an "EIC Covid Platform" which will be available before the award ceremony scheduled for April 30.

Participate and develop your ideas.
