World Science Day for Peace and Development 2016
The World Day of Science for Peace and Development is celebrated annually on November 10, promoted by UNESCO. The day aims to highlight the role of science in building a better world. "Celebrating science centers and museums" is the theme of this year's day.
The Director-General of UNESCO, Irina Bokova, has issued a message on the occasion of this day, in which she highlights the paramount importance of science in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the Addis Ababa Action Agenda, the Sendai Framework for Action and the Paris Agreement on Climate Change. In the message, he highlights the role of science centers and museums, which are in the spotlight on this day, as they are living laboratories of creativity and encourage research and the search for solutions to the problems of our societies.
