Directory brings together digital repositories of science and culture

The Ministry of Science, Technology, and Higher Education, in conjunction with the Ministry of Culture, is creating a Digital Repository Directory (DRD), a digital infrastructure to identify and provide access to Portugal's digital repositories in the areas of Science and Culture.

With the aim of enhancing production and promote knowledge sharing, the DRD aims to encourage the use of digital repositories and promote technical standardization and digital preservation practices. This initiativealso aims to support the implementation of the national open science policy andpromote the dissemination of scientific and technological culture and international cooperation, particularly with Portuguese-speaking countries.

The first phase of this project—identifying and characterizing digital repositories belonging to science and cultural institutions—runs until January 30, and a form is available for data collection.
