Directory convenes Science and Culture digital repositories

The Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education, in conjunction with the Ministry of Culture, is creating a Directory of Digital Repositories (DRD), a digital infrastructure to identify and provide access to Portugal's digital repositories in the areas of Science and Culture.

With the aim of enhancing national scientific the DRD aims to stimulate the use of digital repositories and promote technical standardization and digital preservation practices. This initiative also aims to support the implementation of the national open science policy and promote the dissemination of scientific and technological culture and international cooperation, particularly with Portuguese-speaking countries.

The first phase of this project - identification and characterization of digital repositories belonging to science and culture institutions - runs until January 30, and a data collection form is available.
