Directory brings together digital repositories of Science and Culture

The Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education, in conjunction with the Ministry of Culture, is creating a Digital Repository Directory (DRD), a digital infrastructure to identify and provide access to Portugal's digital repositories in the areas of Science and Culture.

With the aim of valuing production national scientific research and to promote knowledge sharing, the DRD aims to stimulate the use of digital repositories and promote technical standardization and digital preservation practices. This initiative also aims to support the implementation of the national open science policy and promote the dissemination of scientific and technological culture and international cooperation, in particular with Portuguese-speaking countries.

The first phase of this project – identification and characterization of digital repositories belonging to science and culture institutions – runs until January 30, and a form for data collection is available.
