Documents for the 2017 Call for PhD Scholarships have been published

The Foundation for Science and Technology published today the documents relating to the Call for Assignment of Studentships for Doctorate 2017. The registration period will be from March 1st to 31st, with the allocation of 900 Studentships of doctorate.

The anticipation of Call for the month of March aims to allow candidates to be aware of the result of the Call before the start of the school year so that they can better plan their research. The FCT intends that the opening of the Call for the assignment of Studentships doctorate to always occur in the first quarter of the year.

To the Studentships Doctoral grants are a subsidy granted to researchers in training to carry out activities of a scientific and technological nature on an exclusive basis, with a view to obtaining the title of doctor. Research carried out by PhD researchers, in accordance with Decree-Law 57/2016, must assume hiring as the normal link, so that the attribution of Studentships postdoctoral fellowship in this Call . The recruitment of PhDs is a priority for the FCT and will be reflected in the Call of Projects in all scientific fields, the notice for which must be published by March, in the implementation of DL 57/2016, under which the opening of another thousand is foreseen Calls hiring of doctors to be financed by the FCT, and other scientific employment opportunities that the FCT will promote in 2017.
