Science 2020 meeting with new dates

The edition of the Meeting with Science and Technology in Portugal - Science 2020 has new dates, taking place on November 2, 3 and 4, 2020, at the Lisbon Congress Center. Registration for participation has been open since last March.
The event has been postponed to November due to the current Covid-19 pandemic situation and the consequent exceptional measures decreed by the Portuguese government to contain this outbreak. The postponement of the meeting is due to the resolution to avoid carrying out activities and initiatives that involve the face-to-face participation of a large number of people.
In November, Encontro Ciência hopes to bring together, as usual, the Portuguese scientific community and encourage interaction between researchers, including the business sector and the general public. It also aims to raise awareness of developments in different areas of research in the country.
In past editions, an average of 4,000 people have attended, more than 500 papers and more than 700 posters have been presented, and around 100 research institutions have demonstrated their R&D activities.
This year's meeting is curated by Helena Canhão, coordinator of the Center for Integrated Health Research at the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the New University of Lisbon, and Pedro Oliveira, Professor and holder of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation Chair at the Copenhagen Business School and the Nova School of Business and Economics, co-founders of Patient Innovation.
The Science 2020 Meeting is organized by the FCT, with the collaboration of the National Agency for Scientific and Technological Culture Ciência Viva and the institutional support of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education and the Parliamentary Commission for Education, Science, Youth and Sport.
