FCT has published the Notice of the Call for the 5th edition of CEEC Individual

FCT has published the Notice of the Call of the 5th edition of the Call Encourage Individual Scientific Employment (CEEC Individual), for which applications will run from February 3, 2022 until 5:00 p.m. (Lisbon time) on March 3, 2022. This Call provides for the hiring of 400 more PhD researchers under the Scientific Employment Regulation (REC).

CEEC Individual is an annual Call that directly supports the hiring of doctoral researchers in all scientific areas who wish to carry out their scientific research or technological development activities in Portugal, at the institutions that make up the National Science and Technology System (SNCT).

CEEC Individual contracts last up to 6 years and are awarded according to four categories: Junior researcher, for doctoral graduates of 5 years or less, with reduced post-doctoral research experience in the scientific area to which they are applying; Assistant researcher, for doctoral graduates of more than 5 years and less than 12 years, with a relevant curriculum in the scientific area to which they are applying and with limited scientific independence; Principal researcher, for doctoral graduates with more than 12 years' experience, with a relevant curriculum vitae in the scientific area to which they are applying, demonstrating some scientific independence in the last 3 years; and Coordinating researcher, for doctoral graduates holding a habilitation or aggregation degree in Portugal, with a curriculum vitae of high merit in the scientific area to which they are applying, demonstrating scientific independence and with evidence of leadership in that scientific area.

The Individual CEEC, together with the Institutional CEEC, is a funding instrument for hiring researchers created by the FCT in 2017, following the publication of Decree-Law No. 57/2016 and with the aim of stimulating scientific and technological employment in all areas of knowledge.

The Stimulus to Scientific Employment program, through the five editions of the Individual CEEC and the two editions of the Institutional CEEC launched so far, has opened up a total of 2,600 vacancies for contracts with doctoral researchers.
