FCT published the Notice of the Call 5th edition of CEEC Individual

The FCT has published the Notice of the Call for the 5th edition of Call Individual Scientific Employment Call (CEEC Individual), for which applications will be accepted from February 3, 2022, until 5:00 p.m. (Lisbon time) on March 3, 2022. This Call the hiring of an additional 400 PhD researchers under the Scientific Employment Regulation (REC).

CEEC Individual is an Call that directly supports the hiring of PhD researchers in all scientific fields who wish to carry out their scientific research or technological development activities in Portugal, at institutions that are part of the National Science and Technology System (SNCT).

CEEC Individual contracts last up to 6 years and are awarded according to four categories: Junior researcher, for those who have held a PhD for 5 years or less, with limited postdoctoral research experience in the scientific area to which they are applying; Assistant researcher, for those who have held a PhD for more than 5 years and less than 12 years, with a relevant curriculum in the scientific area to which they are applying and with limited scientific independence; Principal investigator, for those who have held a PhD for more than 12 years, with a relevant curriculum vitae in the scientific area to which they are applying, demonstrating some scientific independence in the last 3 years; and Coordinating investigator, for PhD holders with a qualification or aggregation in Portugal, with a high merit curriculum vitae in the scientific area to which they are applying, demonstrating scientific independence and evidence of leadership in that scientific area.

The Individual CEEC, together with the Institutional CEEC, is a funding instrument for hiring researchers created by FCT in 2017, following the publication of Decree-Law No. 57/2016, with the aim of stimulating scientific and technological employment in all areas of knowledge.

The Scientific Employment Stimulus Program, through the five editions of CEEC Individual and the two editions of CEEC Institutional launched to date, has created a total of 2,600 positions for PhD researchers.
