Information on the Schedule of Visits by Evaluation Panels to R&D Units

The evaluation of R&D Units will be completed by the end of June, as stated in the FCT Calendar for 2019. Depending on the availability of evaluators, 135 Units from 13 evaluation panels were visited between September and December 2018, with visits by evaluators to the remaining 213 units in 20 panels currently underway. 

The R&D Units will be notified in advance of the specific dates and details regarding the organization of the visits, as was done with the Units that have already been visited. 

The visit schedule for 2019 will be as follows:

March 1–15: Psychology (ongoing).

March 15 to April 14: Architecture and Urban Planning; Materials Science and Engineering and Nanotechnology; Chemical and Biological Engineering and Environmentally Sustainable Chemistry.

From April 15 to May 14: Communication Sciences; Marine Sciences and Technologies; Economics; Philosophy; Public Health, Nursing, Health and Sports Technologies, Rehabilitation, and Well-being.

May 15 to June 14: Education Sciences; Literary Studies; Mediterranean Studies: Tourism, Hospitality, and Hotel Management; History and Archaeology; Clinical and Translational Research; Mathematics; Sociology, Anthropology, Demography, and Geography. 

June 1–30: Arts and Design, Artistic and Musical Development; Language Sciences; Physics; Management.

The evaluation process for R&D Units involves 225 international evaluators for 348 applications from R&D Units comprising 19,273 PhD researchers.
