FCCN conferences in February

The FCCN 2014 Conference will take place on February 5, 6, and 7 at the University of Évora. This event is the main annual meeting point for entities that make up the national higher education and research community, namely those responsible for technical IT services, archivists, and librarians.

The Science, Technology, and Society Network (RCTS), b-On – the online knowledge library, the Portuguese Open Access Scientific Repository (RCAAP), and the video services available to the scientific community are some of the topics that will be highlighted throughout the conference.

In the 2014 edition, the program brings together 46 speakers from 19 different institutions, in 57 presentations spread over two plenary sessions, 11 working meetings, and 6 workshops. The program also features some new additions compared to previous years: the number of plenary sessions has been increased and several workshops will be available. A 'Meet the geek' space has also been created to be used as a direct meeting point with experts in the various areas of FCCN's work. There will also be several challenges for participants taking place during the three days of the event.

Registration is open until February 2. More information about registration, detailed program, logistics, and accommodation is available at http://jornadas.fccn.pt/.
