The event brings together speakers from across Europe and includes presentations by researchers, business leaders, and political and government officials, with the aim of mobilizing the whole of Europe for theHorizon Europe 2021-27program and its coordination with national recovery and resilience programs, which are being prepared under theNext Generation EU 2021-26program.

During the event, ideas for promoting the twin green and digital transitions across Europe will be presented and discussed, in association with a resilient recovery through a renewed European Research Area (ERA).

The programdocument includes a basic note on the critical issues currently facing this process and the promotion of R&D activity in Europe, including the need to increase public and private investment in R&D, particularly in the context of the European Commission's recent reaffirmation of the target of 3% of investment in R&D in terms of gross domestic product by 2030.

In Portugal, the coordination and dissemination of the strategy to strengthen national participation in theHorizon Europe 2021-27program is carried out through the PERIN Network (Portugal in Europe Research and Innovation Network), which includes the main funding and promotion agencies for R&D, namely FCT, ANI, AICIB, PT Space, Agência ERSMUS, and DGES, in close coordination with the offices promoting European programs in academic and research institutions, as well as in companies, business associations, and business incubation and interface centers.
