L'Oréal Portugal Medals of Honor for Women in Science 2020

FCT, L'Oréal Portugal and the UNESCO National Commission have opened the application period for the L'Oréal Portugal Medals of Honor for Women in Science 2020, which is ongoing until September 18, 2020.

In this year's edition, the highlighted theme is research in the area of Climate Change, and one of the four medals that will be awarded will be given primarily to a research proposal within the scope of the Impact of Climate Change on Health or the Environment, considered relevant by the Jury. Call .

THE Call is intended for all female doctors who have obtained their doctorate degree less than 5 years ago by the opening date of the Call and who are not over 35 years old by the end of the current year.

The individual prize to be awarded is worth 15 thousand euros, and the evaluation will be carried out by a Jury constituted for this purpose, formed by scientists of recognized merit in the field of the areas of Call .

This initiative originated from a partnership between L'Oréal and UNESCO, signed in 1998. The awarding of the L'Oréal Portugal Medals of Honor for Women in Science first took place in 2004, in an initiative that brought together L'Oréal Portugal, the UNESCO National Commission and the FCT. In 16 years, 53 young researchers have been awarded in Portugal.
