Nuevo Consejo de Administración de la FCT para el mandato 2016-2018 toma posesión de su cargo

The Minister for Science, Technology, and Higher Education, Manuel Heitor, today presided over the ceremony in which the new Board of Directors of FCT took office. Researchers and members of the scientific community based in Portugal, as well as FCT staff and coworkers, were invited to the ceremony.

The new Board of Directors takes on a three-year mandate, for 2016 to 2018. The Board is composed of four members: as President, Paulo Ferrão (director of the MIT-Portugal Program and Full Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon), as Vice-president, Miguel Castanho (Full Professor and Deputy-Director of the School of Medicine, University of Lisbon), and as Members, Isabel Ribeiro (Full Professor at Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon) and Ana Sanchez (head of the Science Communication Office of the Institute of Chemical and Biological Technology, New University of Lisbon).

During the ceremony, the Minister for Science, Technology, and Higher Education presented the FCT Charter of Principles, which outlines the main strategic guidelines for the institution.
