New Space Atlantic Summit 2019 in Azores
(English Version Available Soon)
On June 21 and 22, the island of Santa Maria in the Azores will host the second edition of the New Space Atlantic Summit. The "Portugal Space 2030 Strategy" and the recently founded Portuguese Space Agency - Portugal Space will be the starting point for discussing topics such as emerging processes and products to boost the exploitation of data and signals in the space sector through the use of space-based or space-enabled applications and services. The event will contribute to the discussion of new services such as autonomous navigation and environmental sustainability, as well as the development, construction and operation of space infrastructures (namely a spaceport).
The New Space Atlantic Summit 2019 follows the main conclusions of the first edition, which took place in Lisbon in May 2018 and brought together new players and established participants in the New Space sector. It is organized by Portugal Space in collaboration with FCT, the Atlantic international Research Centre - AIR Centre and the European Space Agency. The event's program includes topics such as sustainable development, maritime applications and other applications with an impact on our daily lives, education for space, discussion of specific legislation and various networking moments that will provide an exchange of ideas and experiences between participants.
