European Researchers' Night 2021

Today, September 24, the cities of Lisbon, Braga, Coimbra, and Évora are hosting another European Researchers' Night, this year dedicated to environmental sustainability. The aim of this initiative is, once again, to bring the public into contact with the researchers involved in organizing the event, thereby dispelling the idea of the "distant and inaccessible scientist" and bringing science closer to citizens.

This year's event is dedicated to environmental sustainability, and the program is aligned with the European Green Deal, which proposes climate neutrality by 2050 through the promotion of initiatives that aim to protect the environment and boost the green economy. The detailed program for each city is available on theinitiative's website.

This meeting between science and citizens has been promoted by the European Commission since 2005 and, this year, once again offers a wide range of activities for everyone to participate in, such as scientific experiments and demonstrations, workshops, conferences, practical workshops, games and quizzes, exhibitions, informal conversations, debates, and street entertainment.
