New “Science Law” published in the Official Gazette

Today, May 16, National Scientists' Day, the "Science Law" was published in the Official Gazette. This is Decree-Law No. 63/2019, revising the legal framework for institutions engaged in research and development (R&D) and other stakeholders in the national science and technology system. It defines the general principles for their evaluation and financing, and regulates the valorization, access, and dissemination of knowledge.

This decree-law was submitted for public consultation and approved by the Council of Ministers on February 21, 2019.
