New FCT Governing Board takes office
The new FCT Board of Directors is now in office.
Helena Pereira, Full Professor at the Higher Institute of Agronomy and Vice President of FCT from 2017 to 2019, now takes on the role of President of the Institution; José Paulo Esperança, Full Professor at ISCTE – Lisbon University Institute and Director of ISCTE Business School from 2015 to 2019, is the new Vice President; Nuno Feixa Rodrigues, Associate Professor at the Polytechnic Institute of Cávado and Ave, who leaves his position as Director of DIGARC – Digital Games Research Center at IPCA, and Emília Moura, former Director of the Department of Management and Administration at FCT, appointed to the Office of the Minister of Science, Technology, and Higher Education since 2015, where she served as Chief of Staff, take on the role of Member of the Board of Directors.
According to the new President, Helena Pereira, "our main goal is to consolidate funding instruments, with an emphasis on scientific employment, but without forgetting projects, Studentships institutions." The leader of the team appointed for the 2019-2022 period explains that she intends to "ensure regularity and predictability in funding, thus responding to the aspirations of the scientific community."
