New FCT Governing Board takes office for the 2016-2018 term
The Minister of Science, Technology, and Higher Education, Manuel Heitor, presided over the inauguration of the new FCT Board of Directors at a ceremony attended by several representatives of the national scientific community, as well as FCT employees.
The Governing Board thus assumes its mandate for the 2016-2018 term. It consists of the President, Paulo Ferrão (Director of the MIT-Portugal Program and Full Professor at the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), University of Lisbon), the Vice-President, Miguel Castanho (Full Professor and Deputy Director of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon), and members Isabel Ribeiro (Professor at the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), University of Lisbon) and Ana Sanchez (Coordinator of the Office of Communication and Dissemination of Science at the Institute of Chemical and Biological Technology, NOVA University Lisbon).
During the inauguration ceremony for the new Governing Board, the Minister of Science, Technology, and Higher Education presented the Charter of Principles to guide the FCT, which defines the main guidelines for the institution.
