FCT's new Board of Directors takes office for the 2016-2018 term

The Minister for Science, Technology and Higher Education, Manuel Heitor, presided over the swearing in of the new FCT Board of Directors, at a ceremony attended by various representatives of the national scientific community, as well as FCT employees.

The Board of Directors thus takes office for the three-year period 2016-2018. It is made up of the President, Paulo Ferrão (director of the MIT-Portugal Program and Full Professor at the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), University of Lisbon), the Vice President, Miguel Castanho (Full Professor and deputy director of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon), the Members Isabel Ribeiro (Full Professor at the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), University of Lisbon) and Ana Sanchez (coordinator of the Science Communication and Dissemination Office of the Institute of Chemical and Biological Technology of the NOVA University of Lisbon).

During the swearing-in ceremony of the new Board of Directors, the Minister of Science, Technology and Higher Education presented the Charter of Principles for the FCT, which sets out the main guidelines for the institution.
